Founder’s Day 2022
This year’s Founder’s Day celebration was a huge success. Founder’s Day is a special day where we celebrate being part of a prestigious group of International Schools globally. Proudly IES.
ISA 2022
On Wednesday, our high school athletes along with the Year 11 and 12 students, attended the first ISA event since 2020. The event started with a fantastic flashmob choreographed by high school students, Oswald Pieterse and Kyle Youlten.Our athletes displayed great endurance, will power and sportsmanship in all events and made us extremely proud. Their did very well in sprints as well as the various field events. A big thank you the PA for the food as well as to our ever supportive parents for their cheering and encouragement.

2022 Back To Basics Camp Year 8 and 9
The camp was met with great excitement and enthusiasm.
Students were challenged not only in team activities such as ‘Burning House’, ‘Spiders Web’ and paddling, but also on a personal level, such as high ropes and Jacob’s Ladder. These challenges helped many overcome their fears, especially that of heights and falling. The comradeship between the students was inspiring to witness, and it was fantastic to see them supporting and encouraging each other. In addition to that, there were some very interesting inspirational speeches!
As staff, we were exceptionally impressed with our students’ behaviour and attitude, not only on camp but also throughout the unexpectedly long bus trip home on Friday.
We could not be more proud of our students and we are certain that the future of BIS is in great hands with them.

SANCCOB Visits Year 2
SANCCOB visits our Year 2 classes
The South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds visited our Year 2 students. They taught the students about the importance of conservation and very interesting facts about coastal birdlife. It was such an engaging inting for our little conservationists.

Interactive Curriculum Morning – February 2019

We understand the daunting responsibility of raising a well rounded and educated child, and because of this we have introduced something wonderful to our parents. The Interactive Curriculum morning!
The aim of this morning is for teachers to share their knowledge with parents so that parents can assist their children in the most effective way possible. After all, empowering our parents will empower our students! No one trains a parent to be a teacher, it is expected for parents to just ‘know’ these things, this is an unrealistic expectation that is hardly fair on any parent. Thus, we offer a support system for parents and students assisting them to be confident in this journey of education.
We invited our Junior School parents from Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to come and join our teachers in discussing and exploring various methods of teaching and learning. The teachers meticulously prepared materials to inspire and train parents in techniques that will give the children the edge on education.
It was a fantastic and successful morning that we are sure to repeat very soon…
